WHY COLOMBIA?

Risk in Colombia?

No longer a destination for just daredevils, this extraordinary country has battled decades of civil turmoil to emerge as one of South America's hottest new destinations. It is jammed with unspoilt mountains, coastline and jungle, not to mention stunning archaeological sites and vibrant culture.

Ten years ago, Colombia was famous only for its drug dealers, left-wing guerrilla groups and paramilitaries. But with the militant groups now at their weakest point in decades, this beautiful country is enjoying a travel renaissance with more and more tourists emboldened to visit.

And they are finding much to explore. Natural attractions include rippling mountains, expanses of the Amazon Basin, large lakes, vast plains and a Caribbean coastline that twinkles with azure water. Meanwhile man-made wonders include lost cities, fabulous pre-Columbian sculpture and colorful colonial houses adorn the towns.

Until now, Colombia has received relatively few travelers in comparison with other South American nations, and visitors can expect an unfeigned welcome and genuine curiosity from its people, where happiness it is just around the corner….. Colombia, the only risk is wanting to stay...

Hábita Suites Proyect - Second Stage -
- Ene 2009 -

Description:

When thinking in an architectonic project there are two relevant aspects: utility and shape, which are intimately related with their environment.

Habita’s first apartments are characterized by the difference achieved in each space. This was possible thanks to the adaptation of a former House into 8 studios, where guests can enjoy different types of accommodation with vast landscape and climate mildness.

The new building’s design rise when considering landscape and geographic location. The new building had to make the most of topography, to shelter from the sun (so spaces could have less heat incidence) and take advantage of the immediate and distant landscape composed by the existing building, the pool, the wooded area and sights of the Valley and the city. Existing vegetation the Saman and Ceiba in particular, Valle’s del cauca emblematic trees, represents the composition axis of the building and are the focal points that we will find at the entrance and exit of the new apartment studios.

The building is made up of two volumes; one of them borders the pool making the meeting patio, the social area and sport activities. The second volume embedded in a step form in to the rock mountain, this last one climbs becoming the backdrop.

Habita Suites offers in a contemporary architecture that evokes Mediterranean architecture, 22 different Suites for different tastes and needs. Heterogeneous spaces in shapes and relation with the landscape a very important point, the reason of balconies and terraces presence, which allows guests to feel the surrounding space and scenery as part of their Suite. You will find a different picture in each window, which gets thought out the limit and the abstract with the mountain rock images to the visual that gets lost in the immensity of the valley or the city.
